Yes. Original music is alive and well in this little big SAYTOWN.  If you are hoping to clean out your heart cockles with some pleasantly unique frequencies, then Main Street is the place to be.  You will begin traveling on another plane of existence after listening to their vibe.  Really.

WRITER’S BLOC: San Antonio Jazz Composer’s Consortium for New Music.

Merriam-Websters defines “Bloc” as “a group of people or countries that are connected by a treaty or agreement or by common goals.” This group of composers has brought it’s collective talent and energy together to present the new music that is being written in the San Antonio region. The goal of this group is to present as much of the music being written by new young composers, as well as the established writing talent of our city to the public.

THIS MONTH’S FEATURED COMPOSERS:

Adrian Ruiz, Aaron Prado, Brian Christiensen, Joe Caploe, Mark Little, and Steve Mohacey

Carmens de la Calle Cafe…320 N Flores St, San Antonio, Texas 78205

Soooo, I’ve been a minute or a thousand.  I apologize but the gauntlet has been thrown and I’ve accepted the ASP.Net challenge.  I spent the entire weekend held up in my little home office, mainly debugging.  Stay tuned for tales of the new collaboration widget for musicians and my scalable musician site complete with a MySQL backend that almost looks as good as mine…

…almost.

Those of you who know my love and adoration for anything and everything vegan may scoff at this post.  I just really like the atmosphere at Zombie’s.  It’s swimming in non-pretentiousness.  I like that.  I like that a lot.

Died: May 11, 1981
Robert Nesta “Bob” Marley, OM was a Jamaican reggae singer, song writer, musician, and guitarist who achieved international fame and acclaim. Starting out in 1963 with the group The Wailers, he forged a distinctive songwriting and vocal style that would later resonate with audiences worldwide. The Wailers would go on to release some of the earliest reggae records with producer Lee Scratch Perry. After the Wailers disbanded in 1974, Marley pursued a solo career that culminated in the release of the album Exodus in 1977, which established his worldwide reputation and produced his status as one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time, with sales of more than 75 million records. He was a committed Rastafari who infused his music with a sense of spirituality.”

thefallsThis iconic San Antonio act is coming back together to show us what music-making is all about.  The Falls will be packed to the gills with people who wish to step back in time and remember hard-rock the way it is supposed to be.  It will be cold tonight but I doubt anyone will care with all of those hot beats going on.

It’s going to be a good night.
