Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, the four musicians that form the entity entitled Paris certainly have a fascinating story to share. Upon meeting in 2009 while partaking in a previous musical affair, vocalist and guitarist Lynn Gunnulfsen and drummer Brad Griffin soon met eye to eye on one thing: something didn’t feel quite right…more

Come join us for a free screening of Pink Floyd’s The Wall. “In this visual riff on Pink Floyd’s album “The Wall,” successful but drugged-out musician Pink (Bob Geldof) is looking back on his isolated childhood from the confines of a Los Angeles hotel room. Through a swirl of flashbacks and chemical-induced hallucinations, Pink recalls his lonely upbringing, during which he built a symbolic wall to the world as he coped with the death of his father (James Laurenson) and the overbearing ways of his mother (Christine Hargreaves).” Bring your favorite movie snack and show up early for our $2.50 anything Happy Hour from 6pm-9pm and our special of the night is $2.50 any beer. 21+ event. VJ Todzilla will be playing your favorite 80’s music videos and requests right after.

LISA FISCHER is a singer who really gets around. Her life is an endless round of planes, trains, and automobiles, rehearsals and fittings. On tour with the Rolling Stones, Sting, Chris Botti or Nine Inch Nails, her name may not be on the marquee, but she doesn’t care. She’s busy loving every minute of it.

Lisa rose to fame in 1992 when she won a Grammy® for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for her first single, “How Can I Ease the Pain,” from her album So Intense beating out the “Queen of Soul” and in an unlikely tie with Patti LaBelle. The rest of her resumé is pretty impressive too: touring, recording, and music making with Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Beyonce, Dionne Warwick, Dolly Parton, Bobby McFerrin, Alicia Keyes and many others. Along with many other top session and backup singers she’s featured in Morgan Neville’s Oscar and Grammy-winning 2013 documentary Twenty Feet from Stardom. He’ll be at Sam’s Burger Joint this Thursday, April 14th promoting his newest cd “Untold Stories”. I told him he’s still an honorary Texan even though he hails from Finland.  He’s been providing South Texas with his Texopean style for well over 18 years and calls his north side Say Town residence ‘home’ when he’s not tearing it up in Europe and Asia.  He’s on lists that also include names like “Clapton” and “Pink Floyd” and is sponsored by Gibson GLOBALLY.  Musical street creds? 💯

I missed his previous appearance at Sam’s Burger Joint last year and literally would writhe in pain when people gushed about his performance.  Get your tickets early.  He dabbles with time signatures that use the number 7 in the denominator.  Comprendé?

You kinda have to hear it to understand.

Thanks for the coffee, the excellent music and the faith, Señor Tuominen.
