Want to see a listing of the clubs and bars in the San Antonio area?  Click the new page link above to see the database, all new and sparkly and pretty!  I’m still adding clubs and will be at it until the wee hours of tomorrow morning so don’t fret if you don’t see your favorite waterin’ hole added.  Or fret and send me a heads up at info@bjdesignsit.com and I’ll be sure to update the database accordingly.  That’s my gift to you this fine first day of summer.

What should you do tonight?  Go gaze at that full moon.  It’s the Summer Solstice and tonight’s lunar display is a once in a lifetime viewing as this Strawberry Moon only coincides with the aforementioned beginning of the season once every 70 years.  Pagans and religious folk alike are gathering at Stonehenge and Sweden is celebrating by feasting throughout the day in honor of the symbolism that includes renewal, fertility and harvest.

I’m providing a database and getting a Big Mac so I think I’m set.

With the rise of modernism and consumer culture, artists depicted unconventional objects such as mass-produced goods and broadly experimented with their methods of representation, turning the aged genre into a vital means of contemporary expression.

LISA FISCHER is a singer who really gets around. Her life is an endless round of planes, trains, and automobiles, rehearsals and fittings. On tour with the Rolling Stones, Sting, Chris Botti or Nine Inch Nails, her name may not be on the marquee, but she doesn’t care. She’s busy loving every minute of it.

Lisa rose to fame in 1992 when she won a Grammy® for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for her first single, “How Can I Ease the Pain,” from her album So Intense beating out the “Queen of Soul” and in an unlikely tie with Patti LaBelle. The rest of her resumé is pretty impressive too: touring, recording, and music making with Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Beyonce, Dionne Warwick, Dolly Parton, Bobby McFerrin, Alicia Keyes and many others. Along with many other top session and backup singers she’s featured in Morgan Neville’s Oscar and Grammy-winning 2013 documentary Twenty Feet from Stardom.
