Sooo…

Hey!  How has 2017 been treating you?  Real life has my full attention and sleep is fleeting as I organize for Web Year Eleven in my business PARADIGM.  I love that word.  It makes more sense than this Texas Winter, I’ll tell you that.  The sun was like, “ohhh don’t you forget, summer is RIGHT around the corner ready to put that heat on your…” you know the rest.

Ok.  I fixed my jacked public calendar automation for the upcoming events that you can view on the left sidebar.  Please check back often to see all of the great events in and around the San Antonio Metroplex.  That’s automated. Doesn’t need sleep.

The San Antonio Food Bank is desperately in need of volunteers.

Yes. Original music is alive and well in this little big SAYTOWN.  If you are hoping to clean out your heart cockles with some pleasantly unique frequencies, then Main Street is the place to be.  You will begin traveling on another plane of existence after listening to their vibe.  Really.

LISA FISCHER is a singer who really gets around. Her life is an endless round of planes, trains, and automobiles, rehearsals and fittings. On tour with the Rolling Stones, Sting, Chris Botti or Nine Inch Nails, her name may not be on the marquee, but she doesn’t care. She’s busy loving every minute of it.

Lisa rose to fame in 1992 when she won a Grammy® for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for her first single, “How Can I Ease the Pain,” from her album So Intense beating out the “Queen of Soul” and in an unlikely tie with Patti LaBelle. The rest of her resumé is pretty impressive too: touring, recording, and music making with Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Beyonce, Dionne Warwick, Dolly Parton, Bobby McFerrin, Alicia Keyes and many others. Along with many other top session and backup singers she’s featured in Morgan Neville’s Oscar and Grammy-winning 2013 documentary Twenty Feet from Stardom. He’ll be at Sam’s Burger Joint this Thursday, April 14th promoting his newest cd “Untold Stories”. I told him he’s still an honorary Texan even though he hails from Finland.  He’s been providing South Texas with his Texopean style for well over 18 years and calls his north side Say Town residence ‘home’ when he’s not tearing it up in Europe and Asia.  He’s on lists that also include names like “Clapton” and “Pink Floyd” and is sponsored by Gibson GLOBALLY.  Musical street creds? 💯

I missed his previous appearance at Sam’s Burger Joint last year and literally would writhe in pain when people gushed about his performance.  Get your tickets early.  He dabbles with time signatures that use the number 7 in the denominator.  Comprendé?

You kinda have to hear it to understand.

Thanks for the coffee, the excellent music and the faith, Señor Tuominen.

The goal of this group is to present as much of the music being written by new young composers, as well as the established writing talent of our city to the public.
