This, my friends, was described as the “Grandaddy of All Pro Jams”.  Only the best of the best dare to step foot on THAT stage.

The gauntlet was thrown.  Guess who was there to scoop it up?

Tonight, I will place my name in that proverbial bowl for the reaping with Randy Sherrod (bass) and the Doyle “Twins of Doom” rounding out the foundation.  (The last time I sang for them was for a saving grace at a funeral.  People saw.)

So, ya know, ain’t skeered.

It is advisable to “git thar earlee”.

8:40 PM – UPDATE: The review describing the bartendress IS true.

9:27 PM – CANCELED

10:01 PM – Still here -discussing business with the female management, adding to the till, and “It’s a long way to the top if you want to Rock and Roll” blasts over the stereo

That’s all I asked!
Just pay your talent.  It’s that simple.  Original music is the lifeblood of a township.  Think about Seattle.  Did Nirvana come to mind? Incubus? Thinking of Atlanta or do you immediately go P-Funk…

Where: Fitzgerald‘s
When: Wednesday, December 21st, 2016
Address: 437 McCarty Rd #101, San Antonio, TX 78216

Please read carefully. The full-sized version is located in the aforementioned title. Use it as a guide this holiday season.

Good Tidings, my friends.

Wayne Wilson graced the first post of the launch of Where To Go 210.  Imagine my surprise when I found out I worked with his lovely wife!  She gave me a card and a heads up on this week’s San Antonio Fanzine post for date night, Friday December 16th, 2016.

Where: The Lion and the Rose (The Rim)
When: 8:00 – 11:00
Gastro-Meter: The food is supposedly off-the-charts good!  Ye olde English Pub fare.

I’ll be there, plying Wayne’s wife with drinks and singing along.  Hope to see you there, too.  Find me, say wonderful things about this blog, and I might buy you a pint.

It looks like The Jake Castillo Trio took that Wednesday night house spot at Drink Texas.  Gotta be impressed by their work ethic.  These guys deserve the glory.  They are true professionals.

If you need a Humpday break, this is the place to be.

Where: Drink Texas Stone Oak
@ 19903 Stone Oak Parkway (corner of Stone Oak and Hardy Oak)

When: 7pm-11pm

I just might see you there.

Yes. Original music is alive and well in this little big SAYTOWN.  If you are hoping to clean out your heart cockles with some pleasantly unique frequencies, then Main Street is the place to be.  You will begin traveling on another plane of existence after listening to their vibe.  Really.

The Robert Johnson show with the SA Blue Cats and friends looks particularly interesting…but all live acts are essentially magic.  Let’s list them, shall we?

Wednesday 10/5/2016: The Americans with Marcy Grace

Friday 10/28/2016: The Taking with Down Generation & Remanon

Saturday 11/12/2016: Mickey and the Motorcars with Saints Anlogue

Wednesday 11/16/2016: Rhett Miller (of the The Old 97’s) Acoustic Show.  (That was the band Jennifer Aniston’s character wanted Vince Vaugn’s character to go see when she tried to patch things up in that movie The Break Up.)

Saturday 11/19/2016: The Robert Johnson SA Sessions with Texas Johnny Boy, The Mighty Orq and the SA Blue Cats.

Friday 12/2/2016: The Juantanamos EP Release & Big Labowski Tribute

Friday 12/23/2016: Carolyn Wonderland and Guy Forsyth – A Holiday Roast

Go to Sam’s Burger Joint Online for ticket purchases and more info.

Need a Tuesday night release?  Picks…round two.

So, it’s been a minute but all the craziness in Orlando has me not wanting to put people out there in the world…

…but we’re Americans and we don’t stop for anybody…do we?

So let’s do this.
