Carmen and Vocab are waiting to see you!!

It starts at 6:30 but you should plan to get there early.  No outside food and they ask that strollers be kept at a minimum or that families use the umbrella types.

The DoSeum is located at 2800 Broadway, 78209.

Want to see a listing of the clubs and bars in the San Antonio area?  Click the new page link above to see the database, all new and sparkly and pretty!  I’m still adding clubs and will be at it until the wee hours of tomorrow morning so don’t fret if you don’t see your favorite waterin’ hole added.  Or fret and send me a heads up at info@bjdesignsit.com and I’ll be sure to update the database accordingly.  That’s my gift to you this fine first day of summer.

What should you do tonight?  Go gaze at that full moon.  It’s the Summer Solstice and tonight’s lunar display is a once in a lifetime viewing as this Strawberry Moon only coincides with the aforementioned beginning of the season once every 70 years.  Pagans and religious folk alike are gathering at Stonehenge and Sweden is celebrating by feasting throughout the day in honor of the symbolism that includes renewal, fertility and harvest.

I’m providing a database and getting a Big Mac so I think I’m set.

😘

See that little face?  She’s somewhat pooped after making her appearance at the Live Oak Memorial Day Parade.

Note to self: must start getting out more…I was scaring people with my enthusiasm.

I can’t help it. I love a parade.

Object Romance: Contemporary Approaches to Still Life

April 27, 2016 to August 7, 2016

Traditionally considered a lesser genre compared to others such as history and landscape painting, still life grew in prominence in the 20th century. Rather than promote the interests of an elite class, 20th-century still lifes reflect the individual histories and creative ambitions of their makers. With the rise of modernism and consumer culture, artists depicted unconventional objects such as mass-produced goods and broadly experimented with their methods of representation, turning the aged genre into a vital means of contemporary expression.
